It’s no coincidence that I returned from vacation in time for Cinco de Mayo. Y’all there aren’t really any Mexican restaurants in Thailand. I can survive without chips and salsa for so long!
If you haven’t made plans for today’s festivities, here are my favorite places in Fort Worth to sip a margarita or two while eating delicious Tex-Mex food.
La Familia – Y’all know I love, love, love this place. The redneck fajitas are not to be missed and also the flaming margarita. See my blog post about it here. La Familia – where it is really about family
Taco Heads – This former food truck turned into a brick and mortar restaurant is so good. I recommend the elotes and garlic cilantro gulf shrimp tacos. They are really serving up damn fine tacos. Go here to check out their menu. www.tacoheads.com
Uncle Julio’s – Yes, I know this is a chain but the food is freaking fantastic. And the drinks um yeah. I recommend the Lucky Horseshoe margarita and the bacon wrapped camarones. The bar staff is amazing at the Cowtown location. www.unclejulios.com
La Perla Negra – Need something a little different than your normal Tex Mex? Well La Perla Negra is just the place. Located downtown they have a cute little patio where you can watch people walk by. All the while sipping on your margarita (but I love their caipirinha) and eating the delicious ceviche. This place is really a gem for downtown Fort Worth. www.lpnegra.com
So there you go, those are my suggestions for enjoying Cinco de Mayo. The taco is now in your court, so to speak….
